Recipe
What you need to make an easy, authentic, and delicious Chile Cascabel Salsa…
1 TOCANI Chile Cascabel Salsa Kit
2 medium ripe tomatoes and 2 tomatillos
4 cups of water
4 garlic cloves cut in half
3 Tablespoons of olive or avocado oil
1 teaspoon of sea salt
DIRECTIONS
- Boil the water and set aside.
- While the water is boiling, dry roast the tomatoes and the tomatillos on a heavy skillet or comal (provides best authentic flavor). Or you can boil the tomatoes and tomatillos for approx. 10 minutes and then reserve the hot water.
- While the tomatoes and tomatillos are cooking/roasting, remove stems and seeds from chiles.
- Heat the 3 tablespoons of oil and lightly fry the garlic, then the chiles (do not burn), set aside when done.
- Soak the fried chiles in the hot water you set aside approx. 10 minutes
- Blend all the chiles and ingredients in blender until desired texture. Add extra salt to taste.
